Aug 04, 2023Gladen Releases New Zeta Series Speakers - ceoutlook.com
By James Chevrette
Gladen announced a new Zeta speaker line that may be paired with Orca’s 3D Printer Program.
The line includes a wideband 2.75-inch (70mm) midrange called the Zeta ZM 70 that can play frequencies up to 17K.
The Zeta line also includes 8-inch (200mm), and 6.5-inch (165mm) drivers, and 1.18-inch (30mm) tweeter. All four of the drivers use a shallow mounting system for flexibility with 3 1/8 inch, 2.8-inches,and 1-inch of depth, respectively. The Zeta ZM 70 has a mounting depth of 1.3-inches.
The Gladen Zeta ZM 70 (2.75-inch) speaker is especially designed to work with Orca’s 3D Printer Program. The speaker ships without flanges and dealers can 3D print the flanges using Orca’s printer files and supplied printer. The ZM 70 has three grill variations: silver brushed OEM, black chrome, and traditional hexagon. In the box, there is also a unique mounting pod for flexible tweeter mounting.
The four speakers can be configured in 2- or 3-way applications to accommodate many of today’s vehicles. When you are just swapping out OEM speakers to Zeta speakers, the Gladen 6.5- and 8-inch use a three-ohm impedance. This might not be compatible with some vehicles.
The Zeta speakers do not come with passive crossovers, they are best used with an amplifier with built-in crossovers or an outboard processor. As the Zeta speakers are 3 ohm, this helps you get some additional power out of your amplifier at no additional cost.
